Lance Branscum is a dedicated advocate for at-risk youth and the driving force behind Forward Hope. With a rich background in leadership, resilience, and service, Lance brings both personal experience and professional expertise to his role as founder. Having navigated a challenging childhood and time spent in a group home, Lance developed a profound understanding of the struggles faced by young people growing up in difficult circumstances. These experiences became the foundation of his passion to uplift, support, and equip youth transitioning out of group homes or challenging environments.
Over the years, Lance has demonstrated his commitment to mentorship and community service, previously working at a boys' ranch where he guided young men toward stable futures. He is also a skilled leader with experience in operations management across various industries, including supply chain logistics. Lance’s journey has been one of transformation—from adversity to empowerment—and he is now dedicated to providing the resources, brotherhood, and life skills necessary to help young people build successful, independent lives.
In addition to his role at Forward Hope, Lance is a father and a public speaker who shares his story to inspire others to overcome their own challenges. His vision for Forward Hope is to create a lasting impact by fostering respect, accountability, and resilience in the next generation.
Jennifer Knight
Director of Education Programs & Youth Advocacy
Jennifer Knight is a passionate educator and dedicated advocate for at-risk youth, with years of experience as both a teacher and a former houseparent. Known for her commitment to making a positive impact, Jennifer has spent her career supporting young people and empowering them to overcome obstacles. Her expertise in special education and her hands-on experience in group home settings provide Jennifer with unique insights into the needs of at-risk youth, making her an invaluable asset to Forward Hope.
In addition to her work in education, Jennifer actively volunteers in her community, offering mentorship and guidance to those in need. Her unwavering dedication to service and her compassionate approach inspire those around her to reach their full potential. Jennifer’s work with Forward Hope reflects her deep belief in the power of support and community, as she strives to create opportunities and resources for young people transitioning into adulthood.
Clinton Shuffield
Director of Health, Safety & Risk
Clinton Shuffield earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Henderson State University. A native of Arkadelphia, AR, Clinton has built a diverse professional background with experience in administration, laboratory operations, and environmental health and safety. His expertise in creating safe and structured environments directly aligns with Forward Hope’s mission to provide resources and mentorship to at-risk youth, helping them navigate life’s challenges and build a foundation for success. Driven by a passion for mentorship and community, Clinton is committed to fostering growth, safety, and well-being, empowering others to discover their potential and thrive.
Sarah Emmert
Director of Marketing/Communications
Sarah Emmert is a resilient advocate for at-risk youth and a proud graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. No stranger to adversity, Sarah has faced and overcome life’s greatest challenges, fueling her passion to make a meaningful impact. Her journey has strengthened her commitment to uplifting those who face similar struggles, particularly young people navigating difficult paths.
Sarah is a dedicated supporter of grassroots movements, frequently volunteering her time and talents to causes that align with her values. She brings to Forward Hope a unique blend of communication expertise and a deeply rooted empathy, striving to create opportunities for youth to build successful and fulfilling lives. Sarah’s mission is to help others realize their potential, no matter their starting point, and she is honored to contribute to the vision and goals of Forward Hope.
Dr. Chad Dawson
Director of Health & Wellness
Dr. Chad Dawson is a Chiropractor with over 16 years of experience dedicated to helping individuals achieve real health by addressing the root causes of their challenges. With a focus on chiropractic care, rehabilitation, functional medicine, holistic allergy treatment, and advanced therapies, Dr. Dawson has built a career centered on empowering strength, embracing healing, and restoring hope.
As the founder and leader of Apex Health, Dr. Dawson has worked tirelessly to create happier, healthier lives for patients by fostering a comprehensive approach to well-being. This same passion drives his work as the Director of Health and Wellness at Forward Hope. In this role, Dr. Dawson aims to equip at-risk youth with the tools, knowledge, and habits needed to build a foundation of health and success early in life.
Drawing from extensive experience in health, nutrition, fitness, and team management, Dr. Dawson brings a unique blend of expertise and leadership to Forward Hope’s mission. His dedication to holistic wellness and his commitment to mentorship align perfectly with the organization’s goal of transforming lives and empowering the next generation.
Dr. Dawson is a proud husband and father of three, and he cherishes every opportunity to spend time with his family. He is also passionate about mentoring youth and serves in this capacity at Fellowship Bible Church. Dr. Dawson’s deep commitment to faith, family, and service fuels his mission to inspire hope and help others build stronger, healthier futures.
Samantha Coupland
Director of Mental Health & Support Services
Samantha Coupland brings over 11 years of diverse experience in education to her role on the Forward Hope board. She has taught elementary school students (grades K-2), served as a high school counselor, and currently works in Early Childhood Special Education. Samantha is deeply committed to empowering children to meet their life goals and preparing them for real-world challenges.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas (2014), a Master's degree in Counseling from Lindenwood University (2020), and a graduate certificate in TESOL from Missouri State University (2024). Samantha’s academic achievements include multiple awards for her GPA and contributions to education, as well as induction into the National Honor Society.
Samantha is passionate about mental health and finding ways to help others grow, thrive, and feel successful. Her expertise and dedication align closely with Forward Hope’s mission of equipping at-risk youth for brighter futures. She is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to the organization, striving to support its vision and make a lasting impact.
Kyle Schriever
Director of Finance
Kyle Schriever is a dedicated finance professional and proud 11-year U.S. Air Force veteran, bringing a strong background in logistics and a deep-rooted commitment to service. A combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his actions during his deployment in Iraq. Kyle holds both a Bachelor’s and an MBA—each earned summa cum laude—from American Military University.
Throughout his life, Kyle has been actively involved in serving his community, from his time in the military to his work with the Boy Scouts. His passion for mentorship and making a meaningful impact led him to join Forward Hope, where he serves as Director of Finance. In this role, he leads budgeting, grant oversight, and financial strategy to ensure every dollar is used with purpose and transparency.
Outside of his professional work, Kyle enjoys gardening and spending quality time with his wife and two children.
